Nine ways to save with purpose

Share Capital Account

Your ownership stake in the SACCO.

  • Minimum 100 shares at KES 100 each (KES 10,000); groups/chamas buy 200 shares (KES 20,000)
  • Payable in instalments over up to 12 months via M-PESA, check-off, standing order or bank deposit
  • Not refundable — transferable or sellable to an existing member or next of kin
  • Dividends earned at the end of every financial year
  • Statements viewable online

Deposits Savings Account

Monthly savings that unlock borrowing power.

  • Minimum KES 2,500 per month for individuals; KES 5,000 for groups/chamas
  • Earn annual interest (rebates)
  • Qualifies you for loans of up to 3 times your deposits
  • Pay via M-PESA, direct deposit, standing order or check-off
  • Withdrawable on certified withdrawal from membership

Christmas Savings Account

Save steadily for the festive season.

  • Minimum monthly saving of KES 1,000; minimum balance KES 500
  • 2% interest per annum
  • Withdrawal twice a year
  • Save via M-PESA, standing order, direct deposit or check-off

School Fees Savings Account

Plan ahead for education costs.

  • Minimum monthly saving of KES 1,000; minimum balance KES 500
  • 2% interest per annum
  • Banker's cheques available to pay schools directly
  • Withdrawal twice a year; dormant after 6 months of inactivity

Group / Chama / CBO / Welfare Account

Investment savings for groups.

  • Minimum monthly saving of KES 2,000; minimum balance KES 5,000
  • 2% interest per annum
  • Loans of up to 3 times the group's savings
  • Free investment education for members
  • Savings withdrawable upon ceasing membership

Junior Savings Account

For members' children below 18 years.

  • 6% interest per annum on savings above KES 5,000
  • Banker's cheques available for school fees
  • Free piggy banks and an annual kids' fun day
  • Withdrawal twice a year

Retirement Savings Account

Build long-term security for retirement.

  • 5% interest per annum on savings above KES 5,000
  • Withdrawal of up to 50% allowed
  • Dormant after 6 months of inactivity
  • Save via M-PESA, standing order, direct deposit or check-off

52-Week Savings Account

A one-year weekly saving challenge.

  • Save every week, increasing by KES 100
  • Funds withdrawn on the 52nd week
  • No minimum balance and no monthly charges

Development, emergency, school fees, salary advance, device, household, instant, top-up, asset finance, Huduma and business loans.

Development Loan

Invest and develop — property, renovations, assets, projects.

  • 14% p.a. on a reducing balance; repayment up to 60 months
  • Loan amount up to 3 times your deposits
  • Requires 6 months of consistent deposit savings; deposits transferred from other SACCOs qualify after 3 months
  • Insurance fee of 1% of the amount applied; at least 5 guarantors; subject to CRB check

Emergency Loan

For urgent financial needs.

  • Maximum KES 100,000; repayment over 12 months
  • 12% p.a. flat-rate interest; 2/3 rule of basic salary applies
  • Requires 3 months of consistent contributions and a positive CRB report
  • At least 3 guarantors; repaid via check-off, standing order or M-PESA

School Fees Loan

Cater for tuition needs.

  • Available to School Fees Account holders; loan is 50% of savings
  • 12% p.a. on a reducing balance; repayment over 12 months
  • Banker's cheque written in favour of the school
  • No guarantor required

D04

Salary Advance

Cushion against late pay and emergencies.

  • For salaried members with ability to repay; 2/3 rule of basic salary
  • 15% per month; repayment within 1 month (30 days)
  • Repaid through check-off; no guarantor required

D05

Device Loan

Phones, laptops, tablets and computers.

  • Maximum KES 50,000; repayment over 12 months
  • 14% p.a. flat rate
  • Device sourced from a SACCO partner; vendor quote required
  • At least 2 guarantors

D06

Household Loan

Purchase household consumption goods.

  • Maximum KES 100,000; repayment over 18 months
  • 14% flat rate
  • At least 3 guarantors
  • Repaid via check-off, standing order or M-PESA

D07

Instant Loan

Short-term loan approved instantly.

  • Maximum KES 30,000; repayable within 3 months
  • 10% per month flat rate; 2/3 rule of basic salary applies
  • At least 1 guarantor

D08

Refinanced / Top-up Loan

Financing over and above your existing loan.

  • 12% p.a. on a reducing balance; repayment up to 60 months
  • Existing development loan plus interest is deducted
  • Requires 6 months of consistent deposit savings; loan up to 3 times deposits
  • Insurance fee of 1%; at least 7 guarantors; subject to CRB check

D09

Asset Finance Loan

Equipment, vehicles, shambas, motorcycles.

  • Maximum KES 2,000,000; repayment over 48 months
  • 15% p.a. on a reducing balance; loan up to 3 times your deposits
  • At least 7 guarantors plus collateral
  • Positive CRB report and ability to repay required

Huduma Loan

Fast, instant loans to your M-PESA.

  • Maximum KES 40,000, paid directly to the service provider
  • 10% per month; repayment over 6 months
  • 2/3 rule of basic salary applies

Business Loan

For registered businesses, SMEs and entrepreneurs.

  • Maximum KES 500,000; repayment over 48 months
  • 13.5% p.a. on a reducing balance; repaid daily from business proceeds
  • Proof of registered business for loans above KES 100,000
  • Positive CRB report; 4 guarantors for loans above KES 100,000
